As a first time Mama-To-Be, I am especially clueless in the preparation for my little one! I used to babysit my cousins back then, I thought that this time around, it would be easy peasy too! (Well, last time I was being their nanny, instead of their mother so no worries on the baby stuff department i.e. clothes, diapers, lotions, towels, the list goes on!)
I received lots of tips from other Mommies but there is one thing that I came to learn while being pregnant which is:-
As much as pregnancy differs from one person to another, your child might be too!
No matter what advice you'd be receiving from others, it is still up to you, to not accept the advice fully but exercise some caution to it. Do your own homework!
I managed to come up with a list of newborn's general preparation and care!
Baby Clothes
* Long sleeve/Short sleeve & Long pants - Nightwear, cotton, some perforated ones for warmer nights.
* Short sleeve & pants
* Rompers
- For morning wear, cotton, perforated ones too for better air circulation
* Decent outing wear!
* Mittens & Booties/Socks - Cotton, perforated
** Mittens are used to prevent baby from scratching themselves, no need of mittens if the baby's nail are kept short
* Baby binders
* Receiving blankets/Swaddle
Baby Bath
* Baby tub (Got mine from IKEA!)
* Towels
* Handkerchiefs
* Bath kit (Talc, Soap, Shampoo, Lotion) - I got myself a travel kit too, Anakku
* Yu Yee Oil
* Cotton buds and cotton balls
* Baby wipes - Pureen
* Rash cream (Am considering Earth Mama Angel Baby Bottom Balm, is it any good?)
* Diapers (Mamy Poko - Claimed to be good for night wear)
** I was thinking of using other brand for morning wear, is it advisable?)
Baby Bedding
* Baby mattress complete with pillow and bolsters
* Cot sheet
Baby Travel (in the midst of getting!!)
* Diapers/Mummy bag (Carter's, droooooolssss~)
* Baby carrier (JumpSacBaby, double droooooolsssss~~)
I think that I am almost set! Now for Mama stuff! Heee~
